Debbie Winchester is a free-lance photographer specializing in nature and fine art photography.


Her love for the visual image began as a young girl when her parents first gave her a camera. She continues to refine her photographic skills through seminars and workshops, including Freeman Patterson’s workshop on Photography and Visual Design. Her work has placed highly in competition locally, regionally and nationally and her photos have been published in newspapers, magazines and books.


Her photographs have won awards at many venues, including:

The Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, where her image entitled ‘Frosted’ is now in their permanent collection.

“In Focus” an annual exhibition at the Anderson Art Center in Anderson, Indiana;

The Kokomo Art Association’s Annual Photography Competition in Kokomo, Indiana;

The Indiana State Fair, and

“Luminescence”- an annual photography exhibition in Cookeville, Tennessee.


Publications that have featured her photos are The Indianapolis Star; “Cowboys and Indians” magazine, and Indiana 24-7 (DK publishing).


Debbie is a graduate of the department of journalism at Ball State University and is a member of the Riviera Camera Club in Indianapolis.
